Special Class Enrolment

The special class application process is separate from mainstream enrolment. Parents or guardians should first contact their local Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO), notify the NCSE and, where applicable, obtain a Letter of Eligibility before applying directly to the school.

If you are considering a special class place for your child, the following steps will help you get started.

  1. Contact your local SENO

Your Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO) can explain the process, discuss suitable options and advise on the reports needed. Find your local SENO.

  2. Notify the NCSE

Complete the NCSE Parents Notify form, following the guidance for your child’s intended starting year. Provide the requested information and professional reports. Your SENO can help if any documents are missing.

  3. Obtain a Letter of Eligibility

The NCSE reviews your child’s information. If your child meets the criteria, it issues a Letter of Eligibility, which is required when applying for a special class place.

  4. Apply directly to the school

Contact info@scoilmb.ie for information about applying to Scoil Mhuire agus Bharra. Check our Admission Policy and Annual Admission Notice for application dates and requirements.

Completing Parents Notify does not constitute an application to a school or guarantee a place. Applications are considered under the school’s Admission Policy.
